The 37th session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee was held on 16 – 27 June 2013 in Cambodia, Phnom Pehn. The Ukrainian delegation composed of representatives of the Ministry of culture of Ukraine, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Ministry of environment of Ukraine, Kyiv State Administration and national reserves participated in the its work.
According to the agenda of the session, the Committee examined the state of conservation of cultural and natural sites, inscribed on the World Heritage List of UNESCO.
The Committee adopted decisions on three Ukrainian World Heritage sites, namely: “Primeval Beech Forests of the Carpathians and Ancient Beech Forests of Germany”, “L’viv – the Ensemble of the Historic Centre” and “Kiev: St.Sophia Cathedral and Related Monastic Buildings, Kiev-Pechersk Lavra”.
The texts of the mentioned documents contain evaluations concerning the state of conservation of these sites as well as recommendations with regard to their management.
