The world premiere of the international project «Musical gratitude to medical workers» under the patronage of UNESCO, with the support of WHO and the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation will take place on September 16, 2021 at the National Opera of Ukraine.
It will bring together performers and composers from different countries. There will be several world premieres of Ukrainian and foreign composers, participation of UNESCO Artists for Peace from different countries, a combination of online and offline formats. The performers will present music from all continents.
The author of the project, UNESCO Artist for Peace Herman Makarenko, noted, that its primary goal is to express gratitude to medical workers all over the world for their courage and dedication, to emphasize solidarity in overcoming the global challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. The resulting audiovisual product will be posted on online platforms for free access, where medical workers around the world will be able to watch it.
UNESCO Assistant Director-general Eduard Firmin Matoko stressed that the audiovisual content created within the project will become part of the global "ResiliArt" movement launched by UNESCO.
