Petrykivka decorative painting has been inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity

The Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage, holding its 8th session on 2-7 December 2013, inscribed first ukrainian element on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity - "Petrykivka decorative painting as a phenomenon of the Ukrainian ornamental folk art".
The Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity serves to raise awareness of intangible heritage and provide recognition to communities’ traditions and know-how that reflect their cultural diversity.
