The ceremony was followed by the conversation concerning the issues related to the current state and prospects of Ukraine’s participation in the UNESCO’s activities. Ambassador, Permanent Delegate expressed gratitude to Audrey Azoulay for consistent support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country and the hope that monitoring of the situation in the temporarily occupied Crimea will continue to be among the main activities of the Organization.

Vadym Omelchenko also payed tribute to the Director-General for her high appreciation of the initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky regarding the international flash mob initiated on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of UNESCO.

The Ukrainian side expressed its intention to increase representation of Ukraine in the governing and other UNESCO's bodies. The information provided was well received by the Director-General, who considers Ukraine as a modern country known not only for its rich culture and traditions and recognized around the world for its cultural and natural heritage, but also for advanced technologies and achievements in the fields education and science. Ms. Audrey Azoulay announced her wish to visit Ukraine alreаdy this year.
