The Permanent Delegation of Ukraine to UNESCO has the pleasure to inform that, Mr Herman Makarenko, the chief conductor and artistic director of the orchestra «Kyiv-Classic», Ambassador of the Ukrainian culture, will be designated by H.E. Ms Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO, as a UNESCO Artist for Peace at a ceremony to be held at UNESCO's HQ on 29 November 2016 (6 p.m.)
Mr Makarenko is the first Ukrainian artist to be appointed in this honorary capacity.
The official designation ceremony will be followed by a concert of the orchestra «Kyiv-Classic».
